The
Detours are an East Kilbride based band who play
covers from 60’s, 70’s, 80’s 90’s
and the noughties.
The band is a three
piece unit and consists of;
Colin Forbes : Lead
Vocals / Bass Guitar
John Williams : Lead Guitar/ vocals/ digital programming
Mungo White : Drums/ vocals
The Detours
have been playing together since about 1996, although
Mungo only joined the band in 2002. They play pubs,
hotels, functions and corporate events, generally in
the Glasgow and Central Scotland area, but will consider
other locations too.
The songs that they cover are
all classic tracks, and ones that most people can relate to. As the
band say ‘every one
a belter’! Their setlist features not only material from The
Rolling Stones, Bowie, The Eagles, The Who, Free and
Thin Lizzy, but also songs from more up to date bands like Green
Day, Embrace and Snow Patrol.
As you
will see from the band’s biogs, they have been
playing for a while! This experience has formed them
into talented and well seasoned musicians, each with
their own take on both rock and roll! (joke) Seriously,
their sound is an energetic one, artistically satisfying
and irresistibly danceable.
